"Whereas, the cause of God and man are best promoted by the adherance of men to the requirements of the word of God; and
"Whereas, the Word of God ought to be statedly proclaimed in all parts of the world:
Therefore, for the accomplishment of these things,
1st Resolved, That we organize ourselves into a congregation to be known by the name of the
"Pleasant Valley Lutheran Congregation".
2nd Resolved, That we adopt, as a constitution governing us, the "Formula for the government and discipline of the Evangelical Lutheran Church,
as found in the General Synod Hymn Book of A.D. 1867"
